Finnmarksløpet and Femundsløpet

In addition to arranging dogsled expeditions we also take part in the mayor long distance dogsled races in Norway. For the 2010 season our plan is to have a team on both Femund and Finnmarksløpet. Femundsløpet is the biggest long distance  race in Europe and Finmarksløpet in the Northernmost in the world and also the longest and toughest in Europe (1000 km)

Take part in preparations and training for Finnmarksløpet

Special trip

Training a team of sled dogs for the long and tough races in March and February gives us many long and memorable trips in the mountain and forests of the north.

This is not like our normal guided trips. We cower long distances, often sledding during the night, and have our focus on the dogs and their needs instead of our own comfort.

Still it can be a fantastic and unforgettable experience to join a trip like this and learn about this fascinating teamwork.

These trips are arranged during November and December and is open for groups of 1 - 2 specially interested persons. During a 7 days stay there will first be two days where we stay on the farm and do shorter trips ( 20 km to 40 km) then one day of rest for the dogs while we pack an prepare for the long training trip. Finally we go for a long trip of 2 - 3 days where we will cover about 200 km and spend minimum 16  to 20 hours on the sled.

This is a ultimate dogsledding experience for those seeking challenges and

wanting to learn more about the best long distance athletes in the animal world.
